The hydropower project is a run-of-river type with installed capacity of 3.2 MW and 17 GWh annual output capacity.

The project was developed by Tad Salen Power Co., Ltd. which has offices in Vientiane, Laos,

The project is an investment of SCI Electric Public Company Limited (Thai company). A little unusual for a Thai project in Laos to be close to the Vietnam border and sell its output for Lao domestic use and not export anything to Thailand.

The Company’s subsidiary signed a Power Purchase Agreement with Electricité du Laos (EDL) in 2008.

Dam construction began in 2010 and was completed in 2012.

The project operates under a concession period of 30 years that started in 2012.
